V současné době dochází k nebývalému rozmachu bezdrátových technologií a WiFi je toho jasným důkazem. Klasické "drátové" rozvody však ještě dlouhou dobu nebudou nahrazeny úplně, především díky vyšší spolehlivosti datového přenosu, než je tomu v případě přenosu bezdrátového.
