Deco from TP-Link, the Roaming solution for the reasonable money.
Products tipWhat is Deco and how does it work ?
Deco is a great solution for houses, which provides maximum WiFi coverage with a great throughput, with very easy setting up for every user.
Deco is replacing currently using solution, giving you an access point and range extender with intellingent WiFi system, which works as few devices together, upgrading performances like stability, throughput and switches client devices (mobile phone, tablet, notebook) to the access points (AP) with better signal in the split seconds, exactly like in the roaming networks.
Deco creates only one network in your home, so you will see the only one SSID and you need only one password to Deco wireless network. It guarantees the best connection to all your devices, even in case of movement from room to room during playing online games, video streaming or surfing on webpages.
What is Mesh ?
Mesh is simply speaking improved WDS system, which uses just defined WiFi 802.11r/k/v standards and enables particular client devices to decide to which Access Point (AP) they want to connect. This is the performance which distinguishes Mesh and Roaming networks. In the roaming networks the Access Point decides of the switching the client, in the Mesh it’s reversely, the client decides which the AP to connect. However, a client device must have the WiFi card which supports mentioned standards, which is these days in standard. Here is simply describe which are these standards made for:
- 802.11r - this is an addition to the standard of 802.11, which defines fast switching (handover) between Access Points. It was approved in 2008 year. The protocol allows a wireless client device to create secure connection to the new access point with a defined Quality of Service (QoS) settings before switching to it. Due to this fact, the connection lasts shorter than 50 ms and minimizes application failures.
- 802.11k - the client device is continually scanning visible Access Points (AP) to find the best to connect.
- 802.11v - enables to find out if the surrounding Access Points are overloaded or check their level of loading to decide which to connect. In the other words it decides if to connect to the AP with the best signal or to choose the one which has worse signal, but it’s not overloaded.
